Before you compare companies

Start with the company, brand and film name

A company may own several brands, and each brand may have several film lines. A film line isn’t a separate listed company. Films from the same parent company can have different specifications and warranty terms.

What do the sales figures include?

Company sales, sales from one business division, film sales and installation fees count different things. Check the category before comparing figures. A total that combines window film and PPF won’t tell you PPF sales alone.

Choose the right source for your question

Company reports explain the business and its risks. Local technical sheets and warranty terms explain the film being sold in your market. These are the company’s own documents, rather than independent product tests.

Check both the date and what happened

A report’s release date may be months after the period it covers. A plant plan, an acquisition announcement and a production start also mean different things. Look for the stage the company has actually reached.

Where to follow the business

XPEL’s quarterly filing breaks out PPF product sales from window film, software and installation labor. Its discussion of results and acquisition notes help explain changes in distribution and direct sales.

What the figures leave out

The PPF sales line counts products; installation labor appears separately. Growth may come from acquisitions or changes in how XPEL sells, as well as demand. These figures don’t show the profit made from PPF alone.

XPEL earnings: separate PPF products from services

Historical results: quarter ended June 30, 2026. Latest result verified in this review; next earnings date not officially confirmed. Checked 2026-10-17.

XPEL’s June-quarter filing reports PPF product revenue of US$74.822 million, up 19.4% year on year. Its revenue table separates products from installation labor, software and cutbank credits. See the period-by-period rows below.

The filing links PPF growth to direct distribution in China and demand in the United States and Canada. It also attributes lower cutbank-credit revenue primarily to a reduced fair-value estimate. Do not interpret reported product growth as a pure measure of market demand, or allocate all services to PPF.

The August 5 release forecast third-quarter company revenue of US$137–139 million. That was guidance, not reported PPF sales or a completed quarterly result.

  • H1 overlaps Q1 and Q2; never sum all three.
  • Retain independently reported source values. Q1 plus Q2 2025 cutbank values differ from H1 by USD 1 thousand; do not silently rewrite the H1 filing value. Rounding or adjustment cause was not established.
  • No PPF-specific net income or organic-growth estimate. No allocation of all installation labor or cutbank credits to PPF.
  • USD millions are source thousands divided by 1000; growth is (current/comparison-1)*100 rounded to one decimal.

Historical guidance, not reported results

Q3 2026 forecast as of 2026-08-05: USD 137–139 million. Company-wide revenue, not PPF-only. This is a dated forecast, not a reported result.

Where to follow the business

For the film business, look for Advanced Materials and performance films in Eastman’s annual report. These sections explain demand, production changes and where its aftermarket film business fits into the company.

What the figures leave out

Performance films combines window film and protective films. Advanced Materials is broader still. Eastman’s total sales and Advanced Materials sales therefore won’t tell you PPF sales, which the 2025 annual report doesn’t separate out.

3M’s annual and quarterly reports help you follow the whole business: its divisions, capital spending and major risks. For the film’s construction, fitting and warranty, use the product documents.

What the figures leave out

The 2025 annual report doesn’t give a separate PPF sales figure. Results for 3M or its broad business divisions cover much more than PPF. The exact division used to report PPF remains unconfirmed here.

Where to follow the business

Look for Materials Group in the annual report to find graphics and automotive-aftermarket activity. The financial tables group labels, graphics and reflective materials together. For changes to a named film, follow the Graphics product announcements.

What the figures leave out

Materials Group sales cover much more than PPF, and the 2025 report doesn’t show PPF sales or profit separately. Its performance-materials category refers to tapes and adhesives, so that label won’t give you PPF results either.

Garware’s annual reports describe the business. For plant projects, follow the exchange announcements and check whether the update concerns approval, construction, commissioning or commercial production. Its audited standalone filing for the year ended March 31, 2026 has one reporting segment: Polyester Film.

What the figures leave out

Polyester Film results cover more than PPF. Garware lists a FY2025–26 annual report, but its full PDF still needs to be checked for this guide. Links to other distributors’ brands remain unconfirmed.

Where to follow the business

Start with ORAFOL’s investment and acquisition announcements for company updates. Its Maxpro announcement describes a Functional Films business unit with extrusion, coating and laminating capabilities. These details help explain how the business makes films, even without a listed-company earnings record.

What the figures leave out

The linked company sources don’t give separate PPF sales or profit. Investment plans cover wider operations, and planned spending doesn’t mean new capacity is already running. The family-owned description alone doesn’t explain the full legal ownership or identify a security available to investors.
