Searches, comparisons and plans

Searching the knowledge base, filtering documents and questions, comparing films and planning coverage run in your browser. The site’s code does not send these choices to an application database, set cookies, use local storage or load analytics.

Search terms, filters, selected films and panel groups can appear in the URL. Your browser may keep those links in its history, and the hosting provider may receive them when a page is opened. Anyone you share a link with can see its selections. Keep private information out of searches and shared links.

Saving the quote worksheet

Worksheet answers are not added to the URL or sent to an application server. They are not saved automatically, and this site uses no browser storage for them. Closing or reloading the page can lose your unsaved notes.

Save a filled HTML copy to keep an editable file on your device, or print a paper/PDF record. The HTML file includes the notes and checkboxes you entered. Keep it private and share only the information you intend. Do not enter payment details, a vehicle registration, VIN or other unnecessary personal information.

The copy-message button puts text on your clipboard when you ask. It does not send the message, request a quote or book an installation.

Newsletter signups

Signing up is optional and separate from using the guides and tools. If you submit the newsletter form and check its consent box, PaintProtectionFilm.org stores your email address and your permission to receive its PPF email updates. Email editions have not started yet. No newsletter or verification email is sent at signup, and the address remains unverified.

The site stores the normalized email address, newsletter brand, consent wording/version, signup and withdrawal times, unconfirmed or withdrawn status, and a hash of your private withdrawal token in the site’s database. The newsletter service does not store your IP address, browser user-agent or referral URL. The hosting provider may process standard request information separately.

Keep the private withdrawal link shown after signup. Opening it and selecting “Withdraw my signup” marks that signup as withdrawn. The email address, consent record and token hash are retained so a repeat submission cannot silently enroll a withdrawn address again. If the address already has a signup, the original withdrawal link is still required; a repeated submission does not replace it.

Your email address is not displayed on the site, published in a subscriber list or sent to an email delivery provider by this signup form. No email marketing provider is connected yet. Signup and withdrawal records are retained to respect your choice. Before newsletter sending begins, the delivery arrangements and privacy information will need to be updated.

Abuse protection keeps temporary counters and a salted hash derived from a network address; it does not keep that address itself. The counters expire after their short rate-limit windows, and expired records are removed in bounded batches when requests reach the service. Daily random salts also expire. Cleanup is traffic-driven, so expiry does not guarantee immediate deletion.

The form uses no analytics, tracking pixels or browser storage. It sends your email and consent to this site only when you submit. Keep your withdrawal link private, because anyone with it can withdraw that signup.

Hosting and links to other sites

The hosting provider may process standard request information, including IP addresses and requested URLs, under its own policies. This page describes the site’s code; hosting practices are separate.

Opening a manufacturer or distributor source takes you to that website, where its privacy practices apply. This site loads no external fonts, advertising scripts or tracking scripts.

Copying and printing

Copy-link buttons use your browser’s clipboard when you click them. If copying is unavailable, the link is shown so you can copy it yourself. Printing opens your browser’s print dialog.

Corrections and contact

Use this form to report an error or suggest a correction to this website. Your message and page address are stored privately for the site owner to review. A reply email is optional and is used only to reply about your message; it does not sign you up for marketing. Do not send passwords, payment details, medical information, financial documents, or other sensitive personal information. No attachments are accepted. Submissions stay in private storage until the owner deletes them; there is no automatic deletion schedule. Sending a message does not guarantee a reply or a change to the website. No automatic email is sent.

To limit abuse, the hosting service processes your network address. This form stores a salted hash for rate limiting, not your raw IP address. Expired abuse-control records are removed in small batches during later valid submissions; they may remain longer if the form receives no traffic. The hosting provider may separately retain operational logs.
